Adjudication

Paul Sills is an experienced adjudicator with a deep understanding of construction and infrastructure disputes, offering swift, enforceable decisions to support project continuity.

With over 30 years in dispute resolution and a strong commercial background, Paul regularly serves as adjudicator under contractual schemes and statutory adjudication frameworks. His expertise spans building and construction, engineering, energy, and transport sectors, including disputes involving payment claims, delay, defects, and professional negligence.

Paul’s work is grounded in practicality and procedural fairness. He draws on his experience as Managing Director of a construction firm and as a former company receiver during the GFC, allowing him to assess claims with both legal rigour and commercial realism.

He is a certified Fellow with leading adjudication and arbitration bodies, a member of the Society of Adjudicators, and has chaired professional standards tribunals, including for the Registered Master Builders Association of New Zealand. Paul is also a key educator in adjudication best practices, leading Fellowship-level training for adjudicators through AMINZ.

Whether appointed by parties, institutions, or contractually designated nominating bodies, Paul ensures timely, proportionate and reasoned determinations that help projects stay on track and avoid costly escalation.
